Attorney Gomez has represented hundreds of clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR, Immigration Trial Court), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and U.S. Consulates abroad in Immigration matters and the California Superior Court in Criminal matters.

Attorney Gomez is a seasoned immigration advocate with a wide range of practice experience. She has obtained immigration and naturalization benefits for clients from the USCIS such as permanent resident status via family-based applications, humanitarian parole, U-Visa Petitions, Asylum-based applications, Waivers of Inadmissibility based on extreme hardship to a qualifying relative, Waivers of Prior Misrepresentations, naturalization’s and certificates of citizenship.

She has defended clients against deportations via political asylum, withholding of deportation, adjustment of status, cancellation of removal, criminal and fraud waiver cases before the Immigration Court. She has secured dismissal of cases based on the exercise of Prosecutorial Discretion by the Department of Homeland Security, as well as repeated success in reopening clients’ prior cases where they had been previously ordered deported. Reopening their cases allowed them to be granted permanent resident status despite originally being ordered deported many years earlier. She has represented numerous clients before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, in Mandamus and Habeas petitions filed with Federal District Courts

Attorney Gomez is experienced in a variety of criminal defense matters, both misdemeanor and felony. She has successfully defended clients in criminal cases throughout Orange and Los Angeles County. Her knowledge of immigration law is key when it comes to defending clients before the state criminal court. She pursued post-conviction relief, such as petitions for habeas corpus and writs of coram nobis, motions to vacate for non-citizens convicted of crimes.

As a native of Nicaragua, fluent in Spanish and English, clients often welcome her empathetic and effective approach.
